Hosted on Azure and designed from the outset to work at scale, it’s been running continuously for over 10 years.xplore PayA mobile payment platform, allowing customers to pay for products and services using a pre-paid balance on their mobile phone, and receive loyalty points for doing so.Designed, built and project managed xplore’s mobile payment platform. Users top-up using either a debit card or open banking transfer, and then spend in store by showing a QR code or using an NFC card.Xplore AppsThe suite of four apps for iOS, Android and for payment terminals.Maintain and evolve a suite of React Native applications that run on iOS, Android, and embedded on in-store payment terminals. These are complex payment apps, including features such as debit card/open-banking top-ups, e-money payments, loyalty schemes, gift cards and event bookings.

Taptiva was a start-up business that specialised in creating next generation touch-enabled websites for tablets and mobile phones. Co-founded Taptiva as technical director and was responsible for all software development and website hosting within the company.• Key participant in creating and evolving the plans for the business• Designed and developed the core Taptiva product, including user experience and software architecture• Undertook professional services requirements and development work including on and offsite meetings with clients• Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and updating all live client websitesTaptiva FrameworkA web-based software framework that makes it easy to create app-like touch enabled websites for tablets and mobile phones. Designed and developed the Taptiva Framework including UI design, architecture and implementation. The software is highly modular and extensible, promoting separation of content from presentation and layout. Created as a Node.js website and RESTful service on the server- side, and as a CoffeeScript Backbone single page application on the client. Utilises hardware- accelerated CSS3 transitions for high performance in the browser.

A member of the Core Product Development (CPD) team working on the Alterian CMC (formerly Immediacy) and latterly the CME (formerly Morello) Content Management Product Suites. For three years the team used the agile development method Scrum, practising test-driven development, pair programming, and the use of continuous integration servers. Participated in the transition to Scrum and the evolution of the team to self-managing practices, and have acted as Scrum Master. Heavily involved in the user experience of both products and was a member of the UI team. Pioneered the use of JQuery, JSON and WCF to create more responsive, usable interfaces in the CMC product. Participated in the team’s transition from Scrum to Kanban to work on the .NET CME Smart Client application, developing features using .NET Windows Forms. Played a key role in forming a new architecture for CME, and implemented a JavaScript API for the product. Have deputised for the team leader and have conducted interviews for new developer positions.

Joined Immediacy as the tenth employee and played a significant role in the success of the company, helping shape the Immediacy product to become the leading .NET based CMS in the UK at the time. Have worked on all areas of the product and have created key components of the software such as the web-based Image Editor, and Staging-Live Website Synchronisation feature. My responsibilities have included requirements elicitation, architectural design, UI design, development, testing, documentation, support, on-site client visits, and for six months, team leading the Core Product Development team of ten developers.

Worked in a small specialist team of Visual C++ developers maintaining and creating financial calculation applications. Created a component for generating PDF documents from XML that was subsequently adopted company-wide. It has created millions of Key Features PDF documents for customers.
