• Helped manage a fast-paced Senate office with over fifty full-time employees and directly supervised the Senator’s administrative staff, both in Washington and in Minnesota.• Provided political, legislative and media guidance to the Senator and represented the Senator in meetings with Congressional staff, the Administration, advocacy groups and constituents.• Wrote and edited speeches, briefings, press releases and newspaper editorials.

Drafted and secured inclusion of amendments enacted as part of Dodd-Frank and worked with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and agricultural and financial stakeholders to ensure passage and implementation consistent with the statute and congressional intent.• Briefed and staffed the Senator for meetings, major speeches, interviews and press conferences.
