I am a translator specialised in audiovisual and technical content. I am experienced in technical translation, particularly within the automotive, energy, tourism, transcreation, and marketing sectors.I began my career in this sector at a young age: I was only 16 years old when I started to translate car brochures because it felt like a natural fit for me. Following my studies, my experience translating brochures led me to secure a position as an in-house employee for the company that initially commissioned those translations. Even after transitioning to a full-time role, I continued to assume occasional translation tasks.The most relevant specialized tasks were as follows:In 2015-2016, I undertook a major project for the architectural and interior design company Efebé. They sought full localization of their company offerings, including website content and product/service catalogs, from Spanish and Catalan to English. These types of assignments pose a challenge due to their scale and technical terminology, but ultimately, it was a rewarding experience.In 2016 I was fortunate to translate 3 episodes from "Community" TV show. I was an absolute fan of this TV series and its showrunner, D. Harmon, and I always thought these were the kind of challenges I wanted to tackle as a translator: humour, rapid-fire dialogues, numerous cultural references, wordplay. I translated the episodes for dubbing from English to Catalan as part of my Master's degree and, despite the demanding nature of the task, I found it incredibly enjoyable.In 2019, I was approached for a fascinating project: translating a dual-purpose text. It served as both a 'noir'/dystopian genre comic book and a cocktail menu. This ingenious concept was conceived by the founders of Marlowe Bar, nestled in the trendy Born quarter of Barcelona. My task was to translate it from Spanish into English and Catalan while also proofreading the original version.I translated parts of 'The Economist' Annual Report into Catalan for 'El Temps' magazine in 2020 and 2021. These projects were engaging as they involved dealing with puns, double meanings, cultural references, and intertextuality in current affairs, financial, and political topics.
