The NAVIS i-Engineer® suite of products are Lucent’s Element Management Systems for managing network elements in the Wireline and Wireless network domains. The Wireline products include DSL, ATM and Frame Relay devices while the Wireless products include network elements in the CDMA2000 and UMTS networks. The Dhruva project implements the Clinical and Service platforms for performing the various functions of an Ultrasound Scanner. The Clinical platform includes functions like entering patient information, acquiring image data, performing measurements and calculations and generating reports. The Service platform allows Service Engineers to diagnose and service the Ultrasound Scanner remotely over the Web. After proper authentication, the Service Engineer can log on to the Scanner and perform diagnostic tests, view Service log files and download patient images.The Clinical and Service Platforms being developed will be used across the entire range of GE Ultrasound products being manufactured worldwide.The project was implemented in C++ on the Windows 2000 platform based on COM architecture. The Medical Common (MedCom) application was a platform developed for Siemens AG, Germany that implements various functions performed during the clinical workflow at a hospital. For example, typical workflow functions would include registering a patient, acquiring the images, viewing, filming and then archiving of these images. The project was implemented in C++ on the NT platform with 'Plug-and-Play' architecture using OLE Automation methods.Within the Medical group, I worked at various levels of the organization with difference roles and responsibilities:Project Manager o The job involved close customer interaction to finalize software requirements, schedules and milestones.o Project tracking and monitoring.o Software Quality Assurance.Competence Center Heado Responsible for Requirements engineering for the Filming, Configuration and Installation modules.o Module level tracking and monitoring for these components.Module Leadero Design and implementation of the Image Processing module for measuring, masking and filtering operations.o Effort estimation for the given requirements

The Telecommunication Network Management (TMN) project was a comprehensive network management system developed in collaboration with Siemens Nixdorf for Deutsche Telecom. The project was implemented in C++ on the Solaris platform. Worked for 2 years in Munich, Germany, for the development of this product in close co-ordination with the Siemens Nixdorf development teams. o Designed and implemented a communication server to handle user defined service requests for TMN network nodes using CMIP and CMISE Application Layer protocols.o Design and implementation of the Fault Management feature of TMN. The network is monitored for faults in ITN trails. Once a fault is detected, all the affected nodes need to be informed and corrective action, like alternate routing, initiated.o Design and implementation of the Performance Management feature of TMN to monitor the quality of service provided by a network node. A network node is polled at regular intervals for performance data. If this performance data exceeds certain pre-defined thresholds, an alarm is sent to the network operator.

Worked as a Systems Engineer on various projects:o Porting the assembly code for the interpreter of Microsoft Visual Basic from 68000 to Intel platform.o Developing the pre-processor for converting proprietary DCM-COBOL code into ANSI COBOL. o System testing of the DCM FORTRAN compiler.o Implementing and testing the firmware for the Track Management project for the Indian Railways.
