For the Matching of SIM, students had to read texts and make an assignment at home, and must go to the universiteit for the Matching Day. Here, they will get a lecture, get a tutorial which discusses the assignment and end with a project or test. This way, student have a better overview of what the study entails and can thus make a better decision on which study they apply for. I was in charge of making an interesting program: selecting interesting texts, make a challenging assignment and help with the planning of the rest of the day. The theme of the congress was 'Shaping a Sustainable Future' and will focus on Chemical Engineering, Biotchnology, Process Innovation and Sustainability. Another part of my job was to make sure as many students as possible attended the congress, by creating a network amongst the several study associations across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany and by actively promoting through universities and other organisations. I also had some smaller tasks, such as being in charge aqcuiring a band for the jubilee dinner, which was on the last evening of the congress. The 'Student's Day' was received very well and a lot more MSc students were present than was targeted. -

I was in charge of stock (the purchasing and sales of snacks, drinks, et cetera), I was responsible for the cash flow within the association, including the cash flow of activities and parties, I was in charge of grating subsidies and I had to keep an overview of the expenditures. I have also improved the accountanting of the study association by introducing new guidelines and by including the sales of study books into the accounting program. Aside from my duties as treasurer, I was also highly involved in external relations; doing business acquisition so that companies would sponsor our study association. -
