Pavel Barber Hockey Schools is a travelling schools that has an emphasis on puck control and unpredictability. We combine our on ice and off ice program to speed up the learning process, as well as give a fresh and exciting new perspective on training. Our off ice program consists of Floorball which is a great game to fine tune stickhandling skills and force quick thinking. It also forces you to think of more creative solutions when you're in difficult situations.

I specialize in stickhandling skills development and travel the world doing private, group, and team sessions. (Bookings: pavelbarber@gmail.com).By researching and clearly understanding how skill circuits are developed on a biological level, I understand how to build skill sets efficiently while enhancing their love for playing the game.The key is to engage them in the learning process so that they are actively thinking about the skill sets. The first process is skill acquisition which is their ability to gain the skill (how to do it), and the 2nd process is skill application (when, where, and why to use it). The application of a skill involves the mental side of training that will support their hockey sense. Being able to read a situation, and use the best move at the right time for what is presented in front of them. Those who have greater ability and process information faster will be dangerous out there. But the 2 sides must be properly trained in the right order, and not rushed.

I represent Team Canada in the sport of Floorball.

I am responsible for making hockey videos for GoPro using their action cameras and mounts.

I help run on ice programs as well as private lessons at UBC.

Travelled the world representing Canada in field hockey for 3 years.

Represented Canada in indoor hockey which is the indoor version of field hockey. Played for 3 years. We won the Pan American Games in Venezuela in 2010 to qualify for the World Cup in Poland in 2011.
