Dissertation: Biointerfacing via Cell Membrane-Coated Nanoparticles for Novel Antibacterial NanotherapeuticsAdvisor: Prof. Liangfang Zhang• Designed and formulated natural-synthetic hybrid nanoparticles by incorporating natural materials such as cell membranes and glycolipids into biocompatible synthetic materials, including poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) and gold nanoparticles.• Applied cell membrane-coated nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery against local bacterial infection.• Utilized biomimetic nanoparticle formulations for neutralizing bacterial toxins, including cholera toxin, Shiga toxin, endotoxin, and inflammatory cytokine.• Published 3 research articles utilizing nanoparticle-based adjuvant for delivering bacterial antigen as vaccines against bacterial infections • Reported the 1st preclinical study that demonstrated the efficacy of active micromotors in treating gastric bacterial infection.• Trained 4 graduate students with no tissue-culture background to gain proficiency in cellular experiments within 3 months.• Supervised and mentored 7 undergraduate students from planning to conducting their independent research.
