As a researcher at Publica, I have worked on a wide range of research projects, from the subjects of housing to creative industry, where my responsibilities include:- Carrying out desk-based research, including literature and document reviews to support public realm and urban design projects and the wider research programme; - Carrying out quantitative and qualitative analysis of data for a wide variety of projects, including demographic analysis of neighbourhoods in central London;- Analysing research findings on the subjects of housing, play and creative industry to develop key findings, recommendations and principles;- Coordinating and working closely with urban designers and graphic designers to develop data visualisation for communicating key findings and data to specific audiences;- Working closely with project directors to design research methods and draft interview questionnaire, and conducting stakeholder interviews;- Producing thematic briefing notes for senior members of the team, including policy documents and research papers;- Drafting external-facing communications materials on Publica's projects and research (i.e. public consultation responses and tender documents);- Compiling and preparing research materials and findings for project reports, helping to maintain a central database of conferences and research projects;- Developing structure of reports and drafting the content of the full reports for projects, including on the subjects of housing and creative industry;- Representing Publica at external conferences and reporting key messages back to the office to inform live projects and help identify business opportunities;- Supporting the editorial review, including content editing and proofing of draft reports for a variety of projects.

As a supervisor for the course 'Theories in Twentieth Century Architecture', I conducted weekly meetings to supervise students in the writing of their course essays and final year thesis on the subjects of critical theory, postcolonial theory and poststructuralist theory. My responsibilities included drafting termly reports to Director of Studies, outlining individual student's progress, performance and predicted grade.I also supervised a number of architecture students on their final year dissertations, where my responsibilities included meeting with students regularly to provide guidance and advice on the direction of their research. Additionally, I provided additional support in reading draft dissertations and providing suggestions for improvement.

As an undergraduate student at Penn State, I worked part-time on a variety of research projects including the following: I conducted quantitative research on health and social inequality in Pottstown for the Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation and carried out statistical analysis of data obtained from telephone surveys. I worked in collaboration with other research assistants in developing mapping analysis; and compiled progress reports and data inventory to a high standard for approval by the funding board.Additionally, I carried out a qualitative research on the design safety of university campuses; and co-authored a detailed research paper reporting key findings.I worked as a research/design assistant as part of a multi-disciplinary team which delivered Penn State’s solar house entry for the 2007 Solar Decathlon competition. In this role, I assisted in the compilation and preparation of detailed construction drawings for approval by funding bodies.

I worked alongside three studio instructors to - Develop the design studio programme;- Deliver introductory lectures;- Supervise students during visits to project sites;- Oversee the progress of second year architecture students in their design projects;- Conduct regular desk crits to advise and tutor students, and coordinate with other instructors to organise group crits and design reviews;- Determine the appropriate grade for each student.

I worked as an intern architect, working closely with several architects on a number of mixed-use projects. I assisted in the construction administration for a mixed-use project by responding to time-sensitive and highly technical RFIs from contractors.

As an intern architect, I assisted the project architect in coordinating the revision of construction documents for a number of mixed-use projects, working effectively as part of a team.
