Assistant Professor

Lodz Metropolitan Area

As an assistant professor at the Lodz University of Technology, I continue the numerical and experimental characterization of composite materials. Currently, I am also extending my research portfolio with an analysis of 3D-printed structures. Except for research activities, I am teaching the following courses: Strength of Materials, Basic Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Mechanical Engineering, CAD PTC Creo, ANSYS Workbench

Oct 2022 - Mar 2024

Doctoral Student (Researcher)

Lodz Metropolitan Area

The target of my PhD project was to analyse the influence of curing, residual stresses on buckling and post-buckling behaviour of thin-walled, composite structures. Compression tests of the channel and squared cross-section columns made of glass fibre prepreg tapes have been performed. The target was to find the relationships between manufacturing process parameters (curing in the autoclave), the shape of the columns and different fibre architectures. The relationships were determined based on axial compression tests and inspection of the buckling phenomenon. The study covered both experimental tests and numerical modelling based on the finite element method (ANSYS Workbench). Show less

Oct 2018 - Sep 2022

Visiting Phd Student

Bath, England, United Kingdom

During a three-month academic visit to the University of Bath, I worked on the residual stresses measurements in composite structures. The experiments covered the hole-drilling approach and synchrotron X-ray diffraction at Diamond Light Source to measure internal stresses trapped inside the material.

Sep 2021 - Dec 2021

Technical Student Programme

Meyrin, Switzerland

During my technical studentship, I worked in the Experimental Physics Department where I was working for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE). As a mechanical integration group team member, during my internship at CERN, I performed structural analysis of Protodune Dector using the Finite Element Method (ANSYS Workbench) combined with Eurocodes 3 and 8. The goal of the DUNE project was to build several underground neutrino detectors across Europe and the territory of the United States.

Aug 2017 - Aug 2018

Student Research Assistant

Rejon Braunschweig, Niemcy

During my three-month internship at DLR Braunschweig, I was working on the DESICOS project (New Robust DESIgn Guideline for Imperfection Sensitive COmposite Launcher Structures). During this internship, I performed finite element analyses (ABAQUS) of thin-walled composite cylinders and confront them with the experimental results. The target of the DESICOS project was to find a guideline for designing conical and cylindrical structures in terms of stability.

Jul 2015 - Sep 2015

Trainee

Bukowiec

During my two-months industrial placement in the company, I had several responsibilities, such as: dimensional verification of manufactured parts, 3D modeling of parts of the machines, preparing technical documentation of the machines, assembly of the prototype of the machine, strength calculations of certain machine members.
