Through my experience of working in the Learning and Development space, I’ve recognized that relationships with people, collaborating and co-working with teams from all levels bring me drive and motivation in my work.I’ve grown into leading a team of skilled professionals, and one thing that stuck with me through my development was when a former director of mine was illustrating to 7 key Corporate behaviors, one of which was Leading. Regardless of how many years has past, and how much has changed since then, this illustration still resonates with me. It was an image with human hands supporting butterflies to fly freely, which became a meaningful metaphor to me. By allowing people to grow, develop, fly, people are able to pursue what they are passionate about and can more smoothly go above and beyond.When applying this to people management, the crucial thing is to understand each person, what is their natural capabilities, their preferences, and let the butterflies fly.
