Real time indexing/search engine for the twitter stream, in Java, and an HTML5 clients front end to display the results.

I did graphics work mostly (broadcom hardware), and some linux device driver performance work.

At Strangeberry we developed digital media applications, software and hardware. Strangeberry was acquired by TiVo and our Home Media Engine was later integrated into the TiVo DVR platform. My work ranged from Java prototyping, to low level graphics, video and audio playback and HME applications in Java and C++.

I focused on networking server work on the Java platform.

Built a service in Java 1.0 that parsed news wire feeds into objects that were passed off to XML-like program templates that were used to generate web pages. This was used to create the ESPN sportzone website, which had lots of dynamic and timely content.

I wrote the alpha version of HotJava and worked on the Java interpreter performance. Before that I implemented try/finally in the original Java compiler. Ho ho!

First 4 years I worked on the NeWS project - a window system that was based on Postscript. It was very cool but very flawed in a couple important ways. 3 -1 WHAT!?!?The last 3 years were spent on the Green project (that created the Java programming language). I left in 1995 just before Java was released to the world and just before Sun stock went up 8x in.
