I worked as a direct extension of Dr. Thomas Bollaert at UnityPoint Sports Medicine. As part of the medical staff I operated in many facets to ensure quality care for the wide demographic of patients we saw. Roles include but not limited to, rooming of patients, casting, splinting, DME, preparing injections, patient education, triage, etc.

I accepted a new position and stepped down to a PRN status. My responsibilities remain the same for Bettendorf Athletics on an as needed basis.

Located at the Bettendorf, IA Crow Valley ORA building I assisted the physical therapy clinic in the mornings. My primary setting was at Bettendorf High School where myself and two other Athletic Trainers provided services to their Athletes. I provided game coverage, practice coverage, therapeutic exercise and modalities, musculoskeletal injury evaluation, and concussion testing and management. Rock Valley Physical Therapy partners with ORA Orthopedics to provide a team doctor that I worked closely with to ensure quality care of our athletes and completes our multidisciplinary team.

Loaded delivery trucks during the pre-load shift from 2am-8am ensuring that packages were scanned and loaded correctly based on HIN number. In the afternoons helped a driver along his route to ensure timely delivery of packages.

Capitol Lakes is a Continuing Care Retirement Community located in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. As a home health aide my job is to provide care services to residents living within the independent living units at Capitol Lakes. Primary focus for my residents is exercise and rehabilitation but assistance with ADL’s, hygiene, mobility, and other assistance are provided depending on individual service plan. Another component of service is providing companionship

Coventry Village is a retirement community in the Madison Area. Coventry Village consists of condominiums, independent living apartments, assisted living, and a memory care unit. My job as a resident assistant was to provide assistance to residents in the assisted living units. This can range, depending on the resident, from hygiene/grooming, mobility, restroom, or any other assistance a resident may need. I was also responsible for medication administration.

While at Genesis I was the full time Athletic Trainer for United Township High School in East Moline, IL, and spent a brief period at Augustana College In Rock Island, IL. Other opportunities arose while at Genesis which included assisting during the Quad City Marathon, Bix 7, Bettendorf Soccer Association, and in the clinic as needed. My job at Genesis was to develop strength and conditioning programs, assist the physical therapist with exercise and rehabilitation programs, provide care of athletic injuries that may occur at sporting events and practices, serve as a liaison between athletes, parents, coaches, Athletic Director, physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Under direct supervision of the Loras College Athletic Training Staff, an athletic training student works with various Loras College sports teams and occasional off campus clinical sites throughout their four year experience. Depending on their educational status, (Sophomore, Junior, Senior), students are able to perform musculoskeletal evaluation, injury diagnosis, therapeutic modalities, rehabilitation, first aid, and emergency care. Other responsibilities include preparing water, medical kits, splints, spine boards, and all other first aid and emergency care equipment for practice and games. During senior year students are given one sports team to work with. Students are required to work with this team for the entire year (Pre-season, In-season, and Off-season). Again under the direct supervision of the Loras Athletic Training Staff, student's are able to perform all tasks above, but with a degree of freedom. Student's are given the opportunity to examine an injury independently and reach their own differential diagnosis that will be verified by their preceptor. Student's are also able to implement their own treatment and rehabilitation plans also to be verified by their preceptor. The overall experience of the senior year clinical rotation is a tremendous benefit to the student. It encompasses the entirety of their education, and challenges them to apply their knowledge in the real world.
