I am the VP of Operations for Outback, a cold formed steel building company. We design steel buildings of all types including residential, commercial, farm and industrial buildings. My role in the company includes a variety of roles as directed by the company owners. I am involved in direct customer sales in person calling on customers in their homes or at their jobsite. Other ways of selling include online typically via zoom and on the phone. I am directly involved in managing customer concerns and conflicts. I also team up with our remote sales team to help close sales. I act as a sales manager to set up meetings to discuss sales opportunities, and to recap where we are at with current customers. I seek out and find new leads and send them out to our sales design teams for follow up. I am responsible to seek out new distributors and recruit them. This includes negotiating fees for them to join Outback. I work with our existing distributor network of over 40 companies, this includes coaching and listening to their ideas, and helping them resolve conflicts.I also meet with potential new national and regional building suppliers to add them into our system to be able to make available to our national distributor network.
