The LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) is an Ontario government enterprise and one of the world’s largest buyers and retailers of beverage alcohol. As part of our Challenge & Refusal program, LCBO Retail employees demonstrate their vigilance in preventing sales to minors, those who appear intoxicated or those attempting to shop for either of those individuals every day. The LCBO has won more than 200 awards since 1990 in customer service, innovative retailing, social responsibility, staff training, store design, marketing, IT, logistics and corporate communications. • Execute the second-to-none customer service delivery for which LCBO is renowned in all interactions with customers and trade representatives by greeting and serving all persons who enter the store promptly, courteously and responsibly• Motivate customers and fellow employees to learn and experience a variety of new and different products to increase sales in all areas of the store• Utilize the information and education provided to make knowledgeable and confident recommendations to consumers at the retail level for wine, beer, spirits and other beverages• Maintain appealing, full shelves with products throughout the entire store and ensure all product names and labels are clearly visible for customers to easily recognize the product they’re shopping for• Operate a computerized cash register proficiently to ensure all customers enjoy the last point of contact in the store and feel welcomed to shop there again• Assemble stock lists using the scanner and put all items on restock list onto carts in order for all employees to have product to keep the shelves stocked• Prepare licensee orders using order forms for quicker check-outs and pick-ups on large orders

Established in 1997, and incorporated in 1998, the Kingston Economic Development Corporation works to develop and implement a strong economic development strategy for the City of Kingston. It is a not-for-profit corporation governed by a twelve member Board of Directors with representation from the business community and municipal council. Their mission is to undertake and promote economic development for Kingston, fostering local investment, job creation, assessment growth and community prosperity through the support of strategic economic projects in the industrial, commercial, institutional, technological and tourism sectors. • Organize and conduct interviews and reference checks for various positions• Produce emails, compile mailing lists from website and send personalized emails to unsuccessful candidates• Provide general administrative support: file, organize, print, photocopy• Provide prompt customer support with inquiries and requests• Support event coordination for development events hosted by our office and community partners• Designed and produced "Setting up Your New Business for Success", a 44 page introductory workbook for new businesses including six key areas of focus: strategy, marketing, sales, operations, finance, and professionalism • Research and compile information as requested such as news reports, media releases, contact information and other related material • Assist in various marketing communications tasks such as promptly answering all calls and emails in a professional manner, directing inquiries to appropriate faculty, corporate operations, producing social media posts, and covering the front desk• Work on special projects as assigned
