At the front desk, it is my responsibility to provide a diverse and inclusive atmosphere for all students in the residence hall. I accomplish this by utilizing friendly- interpersonal, and communication skills with residents in-person and over the phone. Every day is a new day working with college students, and sometimes situations arise where I have to provide solutions to student problems and conflict within the residence hall. Another part of working at the front desk is being prepared in the case of an emergency. I am trained, to facilitate emergency response protocol for fire, severe weather, lockdown, and evacuation emergencies by alerting and guiding professionals. Some of my other daily tasks at the front desk include certified USPS mail handling, professional etiquette, and practices, as well as precise and accurate inventorying of resources.

As a tour guide, I introduce prospective students to The University of Iowa. I have to use communication skills to effectively portray the life and community of the campus, to help students understand what the Iowa experience is like. I have to utilize quick thinking skills in order to answer tough questions that students may ask. Every tour is different and requires problem-solving and the ability to be flexible.

Interning at the Community Transportation Center, it is my job to help the organization expand by applying for grants and other forms of funding. I applied for and received $500 from Veridian Credit Union to provide bus passes to low-income citizens. I have also helped organize Valentine's day fundraiser that helped raise over 300 dollars for bus passes. I have also helped collaborate with the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Johnson County on their county 5-year plan surrounding transportation. As well as, organizing and facilitating monthly community meetings to get input on citizens' transportation concerns. Our goal is to bring more accessible and affordable transportation to Iowa City. Recently I have been working on writing a policy memo in order to urge the city of Iowa City to expand its transportation options.

As a nanny, I enjoy planning stimulating and fun activities to keep the children engaged each day. I plan scavenger hunts around the neighborhood, fun water activities like water balloon fights, homemade ninja warrior challenges, arts and crafts like rock painting, etc... Another one of my responsibilities is to be very attentive, especially when the children are swimming. As a nanny, I also have to be very patient, especially when helping the children with their homework. I also have to use problem-solving skills when fights and arguments occur between the two children. Part of being a nanny requires helping children understand when their behaviors are wrong and helping to enforce the correct ones.

*COVID Eliminated Job *As an office assistant, I performed daily accurate and efficient data entry and filing, in order to make sure all of the archives in the document center could be easily found. the document center is a high-volume scanning environment and requires meticulous blueprint reviews to make sure the blueprints line up with the online version. This is very important so that contractors are looking at the correct blueprint versions when working on their projects.
