About Jarrett Payton
Partial Bio: Jarrett Payton, son of the late NFL Hall of Famer Walter Payton, is a television and radio host, businessman, philanthropist, motivational speaker, former NFL and CFL running back and devoted husband and father. Currently he is the host of WGN's "GN Sports" program and sports anchor for the 4 p.m. WGN TV News broadcast. He is the former co-host of WGN Radio’s The Beat program on Sundays. Payton was also a co-host of the “Jarrett, Harry and Spike” radio show on Chicago’s former station The Game 87.7FM. His success in business-life continues to grow. Jarrett is a partner in the successful sports bar in Saint Charles, Flagship on the Fox. He has dabbled in other business projects partnering in the past with PapaNicholas Coffee to create Payton Premium Coffee Sweetness and the Payton Premium Coffee Rise and Grind Blends among others. Payton made the transition into coffee after spending four years in the craft brewing business with his custom Jarrett Payton’s All-American Wheat Ale. He was inspired to create his own beer from earlier memories of his father’s appreciation for craft beer.Along with honoring his father’s legacy of making a difference in the community, Payton is now focusing on connecting with children, serving as a role model and stressing the importance of sports, education and character through numerous public speaking events. He and his wife Trisha are the co-founders of The Jarrett Payton Foundation (JPF). The foundation is committed to positively impacting the lives of children and adolescents by creating and providing programs that present them with a wide variety of opportunities specifically designed to develop their leadership skills and enrich their lives.
