A proud trans woman of color originally from El Salvador, I was raised in the vibrant and complex streets of Los Angeles and have called San Francisco my home for over a decade. My journey spans two decades of navigating and overcoming the harsh realities of sex work, substance use, homelessness, systemic discrimination, false arrests, and pervasive biases. From these experiences, I have transformed from a victim of adversity into a survivor and advocate, channeling my resilience into a life of empowerment and service.My lived experiences have become the foundation of my advocacy and activism, inspiring me to uplift others and create pathways for marginalized individuals to thrive. With a profound understanding of intersectionality, I am driven to help people embrace their authentic selves and live unapologetically.As a bilingual Medical Case Manager at an LGBTQIA+ federally qualified nonprofit health center in San Francisco, I bring expertise and compassion to my work. From serving on the frontlines with the street outreach medical team to spearheading critical public health initiatives—including COVID-19 response efforts and testing and vaccination events in underserved neighborhoods like the Tenderloin—I have consistently demonstrated my commitment to public health and community well-being.Certified by the Department of Public Health as an HIV/HEP-C tester and counselor and a substance use counselor, I provide holistic, trauma-informed support to individuals navigating complex health and social challenges. Additionally, I am honored to serve on the LGBTQIA+ Advisory Board, where I amplify the voices of marginalized communities and advocate for equity and inclusion.My work is rooted in a fierce dedication to social justice, drawing strength from my personal and professional journey. Through my roles as a domestic violence survivor, community advocate, and experienced public health professional, I have cultivated a reputation for assertiveness, empathy, and leadership.
