I once ran the Yorkshire 3 peaks, twice in a row... Not for a race on that occasion, but for fun. To see if I could win against myself, the elements, the rugged terrain and the thousands of feet & 50 miles. What did I take from that? In addition to blisters and lead legs, knowledge that the body can always do more than the mind thinks it can. You set the limits to your goals.Academically speaking, I can sit still long enough to study hard it turns out! I have a strong proclivity towards the sciences, & have absolutely loved my degrees. I put my perseverance and determination from the sport into academia and work, and thrive off mentally challenging myself. When I am not hitting the books or annoying friends with 'fun science facts', I am known to be up a tree, mountain or quite literally scaling a cliff face. I am a big adrenaline seeker, bungee jumping, skiing, kayaking and such like. My predominant sport is rock climbing, taking me to various incredible places around England, Scotland, and Wales. I have a great passion for the latest scientific research. As an MSc grad, I wish to stay fully immersed in the latest research. I would love nothing more than for a career in science communication where I may utilise such determination to drive my career, continue to acquire new skills and become proficient in a role in science writing.I thrive off meeting and collaborating with new people, learning, and engaging with new things, so if you're interested in talking science please drop me an email!
