The Burns Unit tlc was launched in 2009 by Paul Burns. A specialist Training and Development business for advertising agencies, communication organisations and marketing departments. The Burns Unit tlc became a founding partner of Rock and a Hardplace, and eLearning business for the Marcoms industry.Paul previously spent 24 very successful years at Saatchi & Saatchi. An Account Executive in 1984 and promoted to the Board in 1990. Paul took on the additional role of Training Director in 1999, and in 2005 extended my remit to become the agencies first Director of Knowledge Practices, sitting on the main Management Board for the Agency.His Account Handling skills have been described as exemplary with an incredibly strong track record in running accounts across a wide variety of businesses from the hugely successful bid and launch of the National Lottery, to fast turnaround business gained on News International. Paul has led teams on large and complex financial brands and has run countless blue chip fmcg brands. A proven strength in developing strong and inspiring Agency teams, and creating long-standing and trusted client relationships by focusing on strong creative ideas that win both creative and effectiveness awards.Specialties: In his role as Training Director and Director of Knowledge Practices Paul created and ran one of the most awarded Training Programme in the advertising industry and has been prominent in pushing training more broadly, through a successful 3 years as Chairman of the IPA Training Forum.The Burns Unit tlc has worked with over 70 agencies, clients and trade bodies, was commissioned to write the award winning IPA Foundation Certificate and Paul has been a Gold IPA CPD Judge for 5 years. The Burns Unit tlc run courses around Europe for the EACA , run Account Handling Bootcamps for the IPA and 4A's in Malaysia. I have spoken at many conferences and lectured at Westminster University, UEA, Bournemouth University and Ravensbourne.
