As a member of the City's Executive Team the role is accountable for four core divisions; Planning & Development, Environmental Utilities, Municipal Works and Medicine Hat Regional Airport.Planning and Development includes many aspects of planning for the city’s future growth, we also help the community with trade and building permits, business licensing, and we ensure infrastructure for new developments meets City standards. Our Environmental Utilities team ensures safe production, distribution/collection of water and wastewater, solid waste and recycling collection, we operate the City’s landfill, and we produce SureGrow compost from the yard waste collection program.Municipal Works manages all aspects of our roads, sidewalks, lanes, bridges (excluding those on provincial highways), and our dam. This includes snow removal, street sweeping, lane repair, potholes, crack sealing, sidewalk maintenance, and stormwater management.Medicine Hat Regional Airport serves our community with daily scheduled flights to Calgary. They also receive flights for medevac, flight training, and general aviation.Leading a team of 250 staff including 220 Union team members and a combined budget in excess of $120M
