I specialize in data science and machine learning engineering, which I have applied to predictive consumer behavior in travel marketing using individual-level data across flights, hotels, car rentals, live events and credit card expenditures. I have built an MLOps pipeline for large-scale models that can predict travel bookings, searches, or expected revenue, enabling travel marketing clients to get a deep understanding of trip and traveler persona characteristics. I am also interested in financial applications of machine learning.I have also conducted academic research in financial economics which draws on information from the public markets to provide quantitative insights on future equity and option performance, identify expected value effects of corporate events, and predict policy decisions. I studied the effects of institutional ownership and common ownership linkages between firms for different types of institutional owners defined by their investment styles. My research has been covered in posts by the CFA Institute's Enterprising Investor blog, the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation, and the Columbia Law School's Blue Sky blog on corporations and capital markets.I earned a Ph.D. in Finance from the Fuqua School at Duke University and a B.S. in Finance and Statistics with minors in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. I passed all three CFA exams on the first attempt.
