Silverton Engineering (Pty) Ltd was established in 1949 as a manufacturer of copper/brass radiators in Silverton, Pretoria, South Africa.The factory occupies over 50 000m2 of space and employs over 580 people, drawing on the skills and expertise from the surrounding areas as far as Ekurhuleni.The accquisition of a metal stamping company has expanded the company's offerings into the automotive component sector as a Tier 1 & 2 supplier to the original motor manufacturers with metal press parts and welding assemblies.The company has the ability to create and manufacture custom built solutions according to customer requirements and specifications, both for local and international markets. • I form part of the IFMSA Executive Management team (“EXCO”);• Member of the IFML Treasury committee, responsible to monitor the Group’s financial affairs;• Trustee on the IFMSA Rehabilitation trust;• Assist IFML Audit Committee Chair with the preparation and effective running of IFML Audit Committee meetings. • Compliance with the listing requirements in respect of the listing on the main board of the London Stock Exchange.• Meeting with and providing information to the analysts covering IFML on the London Stock Exchange;• Continuous focus on cost control to achieve and maintain competitive advantage;• Responsible for financial planning, control and the effective management of company financial requirements.• Development of financial models for internal planning and assessing growth opportunities;• Provide an insight on economic trends and identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities;• Conducting due diligence on companies by researching, interpreting financial statements and market data for potential investments; • Development and maintaining the IFM group financial model;• Assist Financial Director with key risk management as well as strategic financial management.

I was an article clerk in the Mining and Metals section at Ernst & Young. I was involved in various mining audits including Xstrata South Africa (Pty) Ltd - Alloys division, Xstrata South Africa (Pty) Ltd – African Carbon Group, Assmang Limited, etc. During my last year of Articles I already started to act as an Assistant Manager for the Xstrata South Africa (Pty) Ltd audit. I was responsible for the Wonderkop, Boshoek and Rhovan plant on the Western limb.
