MELOS Inc provides Brodart Contract Furniture and Estey Library Shelving for the Virginia area. MELOS specializes in Library Shelving and School Library Furniture sales and installations. I consult with Public Library Librarians and School Media Center Librarians who wish to purchase new furniture for their Libraries and School Media Centers. This includes the selection of colors, fabrics and furniture to compliment the newly constructed or renovated library and media centers. Administered all functions of the circulation services department.Oversees all circulation services staff procedures including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating; conducted staff meetings and training sessions; monitors workload of staff and facilitates completion of tasks.Prepared budget requests, written reports, and plans for the circulation services department.Designated goals for overall efficiency of the circulation services department and its individual staffdevelopment; drafts various procedures/forms to accommodate new and revised department procedures.Uses library automated system efficiently for transactions in the checking in and charging out of library materials, processing patron records, and determining materials status.Monitors patron activities in the library, handling problems as they occur.Oversees opening and closing procedures of library; responsible for bookdrop schedule when library is closed.Participates in library-wide planning and decision making as a member of the library management team to improve the quality of library services.Performs other related duties as required.Manages a staff of 50+ individuals
