Peter is an experienced advocate and mediator. From 1987 until 2006 he was a partner of Minter Ellison (formerly Northmore Hale Davy & Leake) before moving to Francis Burt Chambers.While practising at the bar, Peter had an extensive practice in many areas of law, including administrative, contractual, planning and development, local government, property, competition and consumer protection, building and construction and coronial enquiries. Peter is a mediator, a former Chair of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia,former legal member of the Local Government Standards Panel, Section Editor of the Australian Journal of Competition and Consumer, Deputy Chair of the Law Council of Australia’s Trade Practices Committee and a member of various other Law Society Committees.From October 2016 until October 2024, Peter was the General Counsel for the City of Rockingham as well as its Director of Legal Services. He was a member of the City’s Executive Team, audit committee and cyber-security response team. He remains a member of the Law Society of Western Australia's Ethical Guidance Panel.Peter returns to private practice is 2025 and is open to NED appointments.
