Dr. Peng Chen is a dedicated researcher in the field of materials science and engineering, with a particular focus on biomedical applications. He received his B.E. degree from Xiamen University in China in 2007 and his M.E. degree from Inha University in South Korea in 2009, both specializing in Materials Science and Engineering. Dr. Chen furthered his education by obtaining a Ph.D. in Advanced Science and Engineering through the Waseda-NIMS Joint Doctoral Program at Waseda University and the National Institute for Materials Science in Japan, completing his studies in 2013.After earning his doctorate, Dr. Chen joined the Institute of Biomaterials and Bioengineering at Tokyo Medical and Dental University in 2013. Since 2023, he has been affiliated with the Graduate School of Dentistry at Tohoku University. His research encompasses a wide array of topics within biomaterials and tissue engineering, including materials preparation, surface modification for regenerative medicine, material-cell interactions, surface nano-architectonics, biosensing, and the use of stem cells.Currently, Dr. Chen's research is centered on the fabrication of smart bio-metallic interfaces with additive manufacturing. These advanced surfaces are engineered to control stem cell differentiation, which is crucial for the development of implant devices aimed at improving medical outcomes in regenerative medicine.
