I was employed on the European funded Systematic, Material-oriented Approach using Rational design to develop break-Through Catalysts (SMARTCat) project for development of automotive PEMFC technologies. This focused on computational investigation of ternary alloy nanoparticles with emphasis on optimization of strain and ligand effects to improve catalytic activity. During my time in this position, I was also involved in development of a machine learning augmented genetic algorithm, written in Python and implemented within the Atomic Simulation Environment (ASE).
