Strong project management and communications skills across multiple platforms: program creation and development, music composition, performance, production, writing, editing, teacher training/professional development, public speaking, voice-over, sound design, and event curation.Perennial performing/recording artist and creative professional; current Director of Programming for The Freight in Berkeley, CA, current Mosaic America Artist Fellow (Musican and Writer), recent (2022) Quinteto Latino Composer-in-Residence. Creator of the arts integration program “Golden State of Song” and the “Hip-Hop is Folk Music” initiative for The Freight. In an earlier life: full-time music producer/label owner, full-time elementary school teacher, first Director of Education for the San José Symphony.Projects as a recording artist, producer, and sound designer in the music industry include GRAMMY-nominated contemporary classical music with composer/cellist Joan Jeanrenaud, scores for acclaimed theater productions, recordings with Jackson Browne, Ingrid Chavez, Tammy Hall, Kev Choice, Dr. Fink, bLevin bLectum, and Matthew Szemela, a touring music/literature presentation exploring multiracial identity, voice-over/sound design for tech companies, and more. Magazine, Seagate Creative, Scientific Learning, Grammy.com, Electronic Musician, and the new (2023) anthology “New CHamoru Literature”(University of Hawai’i Press) among others. From 2016-2023 I co-developed and talent-curated original concert programming in collaboration with the Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive. RIGHTSTARTER, my multidisciplinary initiative with rapper DEM ONE and vocalist Bryan Dyer, premiered a new multimedia work, “Black/Pacific”, at the 2022 San José Jazz Summer Fest. Red Fast Luck, (my duo project with David Boyce of the Broun Fellinis) is currently one of the featured artists in the San Francisco Public Library’s new streaming system, Bay Beats.
