Responsible for the development and promulgation of Joint (Army, Navy, Air Force) Doctrine (what is taught) for the Five Power Defence Arrangement (FPDA) in the Asian theatre. Key achievements were:Creating new programme and process for evaluation and validation of current, adopted doctrine.Programme lead for development of simulation for command post exercises and training within this Joint arena, including budgeting and costings to a value of £550,000. Achieving agreement with the 5 Nations (UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia) over acceptance, approval and use of Land and Amphibious doctrine for exercises and training.

Responsible for training, supervision, mentoring and advice to the Oman Artillery Group (3000+ men and staff). Significant achievements were: Programming and project management of the design of a Joint and Combined Arms training and live firing manoeuvre area and range - a multi- million pound project (Phase 1 - £4.5M) encompassing all elements of the Oman military forces, local government and population, and covering military training, infrastructure, funding, development and detailed costings. Lead for the the trials and development team tasked with the taking into service of a new data/voice communications and command and control system, which included wargaming and simulation aspects. This task included budgetary responsibility for the team to a value of £450,000.

• Lead for the planning, delivery and programming of all field training, trials and future events. Significant achievements were:• Planning, coordination, execution and organisation of troop trials for BOWMAN (current military communications system) covering testing, evaluation, validation and acceptance criteria.• Organising, supervising and controlling the military component of a successful Anglo-US trial between BOWMAN GPS and Blue Force Tracker (US combat ID system), in laboratory and field environments, including budgeting responsibilities of up to £350K for the trial and associated activity, and command of a team of 60 personnel.• Programme lead for the design of the Command and Control vehicle for FRES (Future Rapid Effects System) project within the requirements and procurement areas.

Fort Sill, Oklahoma

• Lead for delivering doctrinal and tactical training to the Field Artillery Captain Careers Course, a mandatory course for US Army, US Marine Corps and National Guard Officers, with a large overseas student complement, each course of up to 20 personnel at a time. The role was inclusive of managing, coaching, mentoring and commanding these and other elements of the organisation. Significant achievements were:• Instructor of the Year (competition run against 50 peer group instructors).• Lead for all tactical and simulation exercises and their writing and planning in the execution/operational phase of the course.• Re-instigating leadership and decision making events.• Review and currency of all training programmes and individual and course reports, inclusive of costing analysis and control of a £500K budget.• Lead for review of new doctrine and its incorporation into the instructional programme.
