This position conducts strategic planning for data services; develop and implement data services related policies and procedures; provide data services related fiscal management services; and manages (💼) direct reports of the four major data services areas: discovery, infrastructure, analytics, and decision support. The position provides expertise for data security, data analytics and analysis, business intelligence, and reporting in conjunction with other ITS support for the college and its partnership mission with other MnSCU schools. Manages data interoperability processes between MnSCU ISRS, Workday ERP, Microsoft 365, campus Data Warehouse, and 3rd party solutions assuring value to divisions, departments, and academic and business units. Lead efforts to leverage DMBOK and PMBOK frameworks for campus-wide data processes and project management. Lead work breakdown efforts for key project deliverables and artifacts relating to data fabric architecture alignment such as business requirements, functional design documents, and data models. In this position, I excel in managing and optimizing (💡) data processes to fuel actionable insights. Led a high-performing team to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting, enhancing operational efficiency. The primary role is to lead the development and implementation of a data services delivery process to assist the college senior administration, Department of Planning and Research, faculty, and staff to utilize data analysis, reporting processes and procedures to support instructional and institutional business requirements for the college and its partnership mission with other Minnesota State tertiary education institutions. This position develops policies and procedures for data architecture and the ways related resources can provide value to business units across college. This includes developing a thorough understanding of the campus data governance and the needs of stakeholders across the state-wide higher education community. Lead the development of key project deliverables and artifacts such as business requirements, functional design documents, and data models. Provide analysis and recommendations regarding campus-wide data management. Direct the efforts to maintain a high level of data integrity within core entity records across primary departments (i.e. IT, HR and IR). Provide expertise and work direction for data and application services personnel to understand business goals, needs, and requirements for campus-wide data interoperability and system functionality integration, Review vendor’s solution specifications for compliance with Minnesota State Colleges and Universitiesinformation technology policies. Finalize data-centric test cases and solutions prior to release into production environments. Manage the development and maintenance of process documentation for a range of tasks required to keep data inventory current. Setup and maintain “all things data” (e.g. governance, privacy, structures, security, semantics, etc.). Workday Analytics, Benchmarking and Data Hub Subject Matter Experts (SME).

Responsible for introducing stakeholders to the growing field of Business (retrospective) and Predictive (prospective) Analytics which includes the concept of Big Data and its impact on the development and use of data warehouses and data marts to support analytics. The Business Analytics oriented sessions include topics relating to data reporting (i.e. standard to ad-hoc), querying and drill down techniques, triggers and alerts. The use of key performance indicators (KPI), dashboards and scorecards for performance management and opportunity assessment are addressed. Furthermore, prospective analytics (i.e. predictive) sessions explores statistical analysis, forecasting, extrapolation, predictive modeling. In addition, the course provides resources relating to optimization practices that leverage data mining, text mining, enterprise intelligence architecture, and data visualization tools for competitive advantage or knowledge discovery in data (KDD).
