Manage multiple front end and cross functional project teams for Ring Alarm.

Continuation of role from Zonoff post-acquisition. Initially operated largely using the same technical stack while integrating with Ring's ecosystem.Working in a small team of leads, completely rearchitected Ring's web infrastructure to run multiple Node microservices hosted on AWS. Split out a few monolithic applications into multiple back-end and front-end JS built services. This allowed our web teams to completely own ops, as well as facilitated one of the first true continuous integration/delivery applications in the company.Working as part of larger front end team, setup a complete overhaul of logged in customer experience, an effort that is continually ongoing.Rewrote an upgraded, much more secure user credential experience handling log in, reset password, and create account for Ring web and mobile.

Worked briefly as a designer to experience a different aspect of the software life cycle. This position allowed me to work more closely with the business and view projects from a completely different perspective.Chiefly worked in Dreamweaver to create responsive, reusable designs that can be used as active UI layers.Worked within an Agile team, to allow myself to operating as a developer as well working in both the RAD and STS IDEs on both the UI and Mid-tier layers.After being in the role briefly, it became evident to me that the value of this position was questionable for the company. I worked with senior management to draw out a new software lifecycle that did not require involvement from this position. In my division, the role was removed and the team was dissolved, allowing the members to move on to new roles where they could provide more value.

This title was used for all IT new hires elected to go into the Technology Leadership Program (TLP) at Vanguard.I experienced three roles while in this rotational program, UI Development, Production Support, and Test Automation.In the UI Development role I primarily worked in Java (JSF was the chief framework), I returned to development following the end of my rotational program.In the Production Support role I worked with some legacy systems and worked primarily in UNIX, C, and Visual Basic.In the Test Automation role myself, along with another TLP, took ownership of establishing the standards for how to create sustainable, reusable tests. We also served as the knowledge base on how to successfully use the tools at our disposal. The primary tools used were Quicktest Professional and Quality Center.

Worked primarily in TeamSite with HTML, lite JavaScript, and CSS.The role was not technical in nature, however it did allow me to see the interaction between many facets of the company including developers, marketing, legal, technical writers. It provided enough insight into the company that I knew I wanted to return, just not to the particular role.
