Relocating to the Middle East was a massive step for myself, however the challenge has been taken, and for the foreseeable future the Middle East is home. The early days in the region where about, understanding the construction market, establishing contacts and rejuvenating my own understanding of the simple processes, all while ensuring sales figures showed positive growth - this has been something achieved successfully through, self-generated, effective selling & marketing campaigns.Working closely with Clients, Consultants, Contractors and Distribution partners – both direct accounts and indirect, I have been involved in securing some major project successes in the region. Projects like Mafraq Hospital, Presidential Palace and Masdar Institute in Abu Dhabi, as well as Sheikh Zayed Housing Program and The Emirates Mall in Dubai are just a few that had significant challenges.As a leader in all I do, and someone who views failure as a learning process, my team work is should be consider as excellent and as a manager of a team, there can be very few places would give you the experience obtained in the Middle East. Individuals from various cultures has presented interesting challenges, however (to date) there is nothing I haven't faced and dealt with that was long term problematic, including language and faith. My own personal expertise has grow immensely through diverse management styles, sometimes learning the things not to do, as well as those a manager must do and hopefully those who have worked under me would agree i offer individuals interested the opportunity to discuss/ debate/ learn and find “the correct solution” when it comes to the success of the team.With a real passion for sport, especially long distance endurance events, I'm often found comparing life and business with sporting references and experiences - Using my own to enhance my business understanding.
