Systems Consultancy

Parkville, Victoria, Australia

The primary objectives of this role were to:• Deploy a managed operating environment in to an ad-hoc and often undefined operational system consisting of a broad mix of operating environments comprising diverse Windows and Mac systems operating in broad organisation system. The scale of the operation meant that we deployed over 10,000 devices and migrated the infrastructure of over 20,000 users with minimal impact to the operation of the University of Melbourne user population. Significantly no user lost any data at all.• Normalise the Active Directory attributes according to a defined standard, centralising the user resources.• Discover, normalise and centralise the application infrastructure.• Discover and normalise the organisational printing infrastructure.• Discover, normalise and centralise the disparate infrastructures in the University of Melbourne Faculties. My role was to analyse the existing data repositories of information, to determine any further requirements and to implement the methodology to fulfil those requirement. This involved the in depth data analysis of disparate data repositories in respect of the requirements of the project.

Nov 2011 - Apr 2016

Uc Consultant

Parkville, Victoria Australia

I consulted in the implementation of a pilot Lync Unified Communication Platform. This required the design and development of fault resistant server architecture, its implementation and deployment of the solution. The solution was deployed to all of the ITS division and the majority of the early MOE deployments, totalling several thousand active users. The pilot system is still operational and is in active use.

Jun 2011 - Nov 2011

Unified Communications Consultant

Nec Business Solutions

I was intimately involved in the design, evaluation and deployment of telephony enabled unified communication solutions centred on the Microsoft OCS/LYNC and Exchange platforms. This also involved the initial business and technical assessments, presentations and demonstrations to customers of the capabilities and benefits of the technology to both technical and business focused audiences. I was also included as a prime on any RFI or bids involving these technology platforms.I architected all Microsoft Unified Communication and Messaging related sales bids that resulted in Microsoft’s first Live Communications Server win for the region and positioned NEC as a key Microsoft Partner for unified communications and messaging.Architected, deployed and evangelised Microsoft based federated unified communications (Microsoft Live Communication Server, and then Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007) and unified messaging (initially Microsoft Exchange 2007 and then Microsoft Exchange 2010) at NEC Australia resulting in near 100% adoption of the technology with the resultant improvements in employee interaction, especially in the distributed service engineer base. The functionality of the Microsoft Office Communication Server was the also extended throughout the corporate intranet.

2004 - Jul 2011

Unified Communications Consultant/Solution Architect

I architected and managed financial system integrations into multiple ERP systems. This typically involved intense analysis of incumbent ERP systems and their usage; architectural advice and specifications; recruitment and management of implementation team members and subsequently monitoring of system performance.I designed the extensions of the financial services model using web services on a Microsoft platform. I also significantly contributed to the sales strategy and process. I led the implementation of the web services financial system and integration of the services into the billers systems. This web services financial system became a standard extension to all ASP financial system customers allowing an unprecedented extension of their services into environments that had been inaccessible. This enhanced their ability to collect monies and increased the profitability of the ASP financial offering overall.I was intimately involved in the design, marketing, architecture and deployment of a B2B on-line invoice payment and financial services system using Microsoft system platforms. This system allowed for the presentation, processing and payment of companies invoices to occur entirely online. This provided a flexible payment portal for the payer and provided the company with a unique and intimate view of their debtors and their debtor’s behaviour. In all implementations the day’s sales outstanding was significantly reduced; providing a better utilization of company funds. The cash flow management intelligence also added to the value of the offering to the company.
