Within the Damen Workboats division, I am giving shape to our digital journey, connecting the "why" and "what" with the "how". My focus is on aligning the IT on Board strategy with Damen's global vision, to become world's most connected and sustainable maritime solution provider.Key Achievements and Responsibilities:Strategic Vision Integration: Internal visibility to management and board, explaining how "digital" technology and automation can contribute to corporate goals and topics as remote control and autonomous solutions. Organisational Transformation: Orchestrating and setting up agile processes in three distinct capabilities within the IT on Board program to enable :- Operations: Integrating in Damen's vessel development process. Deliver the automation and IT-on-Board elements of each vessel + tooling for configuration management. - System Development & Integration: Building on standardised technology, the digital domain is the next step in system integration. In addition new digital-only can be created that help Damen's customers. - Development: Agile digital development teams that build customer facing and internal solutions and applications.Roadmap development: Work with the different product market combination groups to develop digital and digitalised solutions that enable safer, more efficient operations with zero downtime during operations. Cyber security: defining program and organisation to enable delivery and management of vessel and comply to NIS2 and IACS (IEC62443) regulations.

Digital technology is disrupting industries, forcing companies to go through a digital transformation. They need to find out (1) how digital technology can bring value for their customers, (2) how to develop and manage connected products and digital services and (3) how to strategically work with suppliers. As Smart Connected Product lead I help clients identify the potential of digital technology for their business, set reachable goals and make sure new products and services are shipped.I am developing the proposition and building a team that will help our clients in developing and shipping their products in an agile way.

At VanBerlo I work as a UX/UI lead within a dedicated interaction design team. I am currently in the lead of multiple projects for various big clients. My activities include: retrieving user insights in various ways with end users, designing signature experiences and user-friendly product and UI solutions, building low to high fidelity prototypes. My strenghts are: efficient, effective, project management, managing clients, prototyping.Clients include Bosch, Douwe Egberts, TNT Express, Philips and Huawei.

I designed a project management tool that limits required effort and discipline to use. Through analysis, using a survey, interviews and a market study, I gained a thorough understanding about the context and the people involved in projects.Using sketching sessions, wireframing, various feedback sessions and a workshop with the people at VanBerlo I developed a concept that I evaluated with a browsable prototype. I simulated interactions using Adobe Flash as a prototyping tool and built the browsable prototype in HTML/CSS and Javascript.

During my studies, I set up with my brother to help clients with user-friendly, state-of-the-art web applications. As our interests and skills were focused on various web techniques, we were able to deliver results quickly and gained valuable business experience.

Studied how interactions can be designed, modified and applied to other contexts. Worked on projects in teams with different big companies such as Philips and KPN.I learned the necessary skills to approach design from a user-centered perspective and in which prototyping and user testing play an integral role from the early stages of the design process on.
