I teach several courses on topics on the intersection of artificial intelligence, behaviour-based robotics, embedded systems, and systems design. I supervise internships and graduation processes. I do this in several bachelor programmes (BSc: Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics & Robotics, Information & Communication Technology; minor: Robotics). I am a staff member of the Digital Production and Robotics Group. I develop technical solutions for the research facility. The Dutch Nao Team takes part in RoboCup Standard Platform League Soccer competitions, in projects for promotion of Computer Science, Robotics and AI among highschool students, and it offers projects on both Bachelor and Master level that can be incorporated in related study programmes at Universiteit van Amsterdam, Technische Universiteit Delft and Universiteit Maastricht. During my membership of the team, we have attended the IranOpen RoboCup competitions multiple times, and RoboCup at Eindhoven (Netherlands), João Pessoa (Brazil), Leipzig (Germany) and Nagoya (Japan), four editions of the world cup of robot soccer.

I taught several groups of 15- to 18-year-old high school students their Computer Science curriculum. The groups were of the Dutch havo and vwo levels, including exam years. Together with the senior CS teacher, we changed most items of the curriculum. My additions included topics on robotics, computer vision and cryptography.

Amsterdam Area, Netherlands

For IT's Academy (an alliance between 40 high schools and several universities and vocational institutes), I have developed, organized and taught a three to five-day masterclass for excellent high school students. During this period, the students learn to program a NAO robot to navigate autonomously through a maze. Programs will be written in Python to apply taught knowledge of robot control, computer vision and A*. This program has been used for four times.

In my second year of board I dedicated most of my time towards the development of a stronger interest in extracurricular activities for students of the student association. This resulted in the first edition of A.W.E.S.O.M.E. I.T., a seminar on the mutual influence of the digital and physical world. Several peer lectures on Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence related popular-scientific topics were organized. Finally, an auxilliary course on Java programming was organized in a reaction to the discontent of the one included in the BSc AI programme.

During these days, there was much going on in the student association. Barely any study-related activities were organized, the common room was to be closed because of repurposing of the current location, contacts with other similar associations at other universities were neglected, and the association had an attitude that made it hard for new members to approach and become active.With this board, we have attempted to tackle most of these problems. I have re-erected the educational committee, a new common room has been found in the same building, VIA got lots of contacts at most other national universities, and with the new academic year an increase of active members has been observed.

Informing high and middle school students on what the BSc Artificial Intelligence programme consists of, and showing them it is fun. This is done by giving presentations at several schools, during open house days of the university, organized practical classes, and having the students visit freshmen classes.

Helping freshmen students Artificial Intelligence getting familiar during their first period at the university by offering weekly "classes" on diverse practical topics, such as homework discussions, RSI prevention, and the rules and regulations of the university.
