They are responsible for executing and managing the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the Navy and Marine Corps shore facilities.Positions include construction contract management, public works, and leadership positions with the world famous US Navy Seabees.CEC officers work in a variety of locations around the world in highly visible positions supervising engineering personnel and technicians. With a budget of over $11 billion per year, CEC officers have engineering management experience, responsibility and authority far exceeding that offered by private firms.

Provided the full range of facilities services including maintenance & capital improvement plans for five subordinate commands spanning 20 facilities with a combined value of $175 million. Led planning, programming and project development of six Military Construction projects valued at $154 million to support the training and mission requirements of Naval Special Warfare units.Duties included meeting with the Command Leadership and Department Heads to define requirements for major projects, scope of work development, conceptual layouts and designs, and construction cost estimates to complete project packages. Also developed a future growth Master Plan for each of the five locations and subordinate commands to include short and long term phasing of projects. On a larger scale, took on a leading role in the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Installation Development Plan workshops which incorporated short and long term facility and infrastructure goals for each of the base’s tenant commands.

Provided leadership in the Operational & Tactical Planning and Execution of Contingency Construction projects in Afghanistan and throughout the Pacific theater.In August 2010, he deployed to Meyamaneh and Kandahar, Afghanistan as Detail Officer-in-Charge, leading his Seabees in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. NMCB 40 deployed to the U.S. Pacific Command Area of Responsibility November 2011, where he served as the Assistant Operations Officer providing project support and oversight to 14 detail sites and several multi-national exercises in support of National Defense policies.

Volunteered for an Individual Augment assignment during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Provided a wide range of facilities services including Requirements Development, Construction Management, and Maintenance oversight for several locations throughout Iraq in support of Special Operations missions.
