As a small company, I am soley responsible for the day to day running / management / marketing & promotion / business development / training & mentoring trainees through their apprenticeship / P & L / planning / recruitment / IT / customer liaison / design & installation / scheduling / wages, as well as being 1st point of contact for any customers which may be for advise on technical issues, providing estimates & quotations, billing and discuusing their project requirements.

Working within a team of other managers, I was responsible for planning staff levels, allocation of work, target monitoring, compiling reports, training, disciplinary's, vehicle allocation, stock control and many other aspects of man management in a unionised / fmcg distribution environment.The depot employed in the region of 600 staff ( seasonal variations ) of which I was reasponsible for upto 100 on a day to day basis.

Reporting directly to the Depot General Manager, i worked within a team of 5 managers, responsible for the day to day running and management of the operation. This was a start up operation of a brand new purpose built warehouse, where as part of the management team, we were responsible for the : purchaseing of equipment / manageing the completion of works to the building / recruitment of staff and implementation of all training programmes with regard to safe handling of the equipment on site and safe working practices throughout the operation. The site was a 24/7 operation dedicated to Tesco and employed in the region of 300 staff.

Avonmouth bakery was the largest bread producing plant in europe and employed in the region of 500 staff, a third of which were specifically managed within the despatch function.Whilst on shift, I was responsible for staffing levels and all aspects of manageing the operation within the following departments : goods in, order assembley, vehicle loading, quality control and order processing to the plants for production. This was achieved through a team of supervisors and senior despatch operatives on a 12 hour shift pattern.The site was a 24/7 operation with a planned shut down period on a sunday for cleaning and maintenance every week.We delivered a wide variety of bread / morning goods and confectionary products on a multi drop basis to over 40 customers locally and also had an intercompany schedule for supply of goods to other sites throughout the UK.

Based at Bristol Lulsgate Airport ( having moved from Manchester Airport ) The role involved all aspects of management incl Stock control / planning / staff management / employment / stock purchasing / stock control / transport / customer services / despatch / quality control / H & Safety and team building in multiple departments.

Responsible for scheduling of vehicle maintenance / staff rota's / staff recruitment/ training/ disciplinary's/order assembley in chilled environment / freezer stock / delivery to aircraft / aircraft loading and face to face customer liaison onboard / operations office / equipment stock take, bonded goodsand many other daily managerial tasksin an ever changing / time critical unionised environment.
