Worked as the Japan Campaigner, post Fukushima disaster. As a campaigner, I helped the Avaaz team develop a wide range of campaigns including political transparency and accountability, support and compensation for Fukushima victims (especially children), issues around Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution and militarization, issues surrounding US military bases in Japan, as well as bullying in schools and sports. I was responsible for building relationships with activists, media, and high profile individuals in Japan and internationally, overseeing the translation of our campaigns into Japanese, as well as writing strong strategies with short turnaround. Other skills included basic html and programming, creative campaigning on social media, and community outreach.

• Wrote an article about arsenic contamination in India and Bangladesh, syndicated by WFS and published by various online publications and newspapers• Represented WFS at various conferences, press events and forums• Edited articles from worldwide contributors• Assisted the marketing department in contacting other international news outlets• Assisted with planning for the public relations department

• Traveled to South Korea to conduct interviews on the life of Mr. Lee Kyung-Hae, the farmer who committed suicide in protest at the WTO conference in Cancun, Mexico• Used Photoshop and QuarkXpress to design the layout of several pages• Worked closely with art editor and founding editor of the award-winning magazine• Copy-edited with content editor

• Assisted in the design of a special issue of Kyoto Journal• Worked with PR staff• Traveled to Cambodia to interview Arn Chorn Pond and wrote “The Abandoned Jewels of Cambodia,” published in issue #53 of the Kyoto Journal
