14+ years professional experience in post production. Some of my favorite experiences have been working on fun projects like the Robot Chicken Star Wars specials and Moral Orel, visiting Skywalker Ranch, and covering media events like E3 or PAX with a production team.My start was a stroke of luck. I was brought in as a VFX intern at a place called Shadow Machine Films, which had an animation branch, Shadow Animation - I think that's how it went. After a few months, they hired me. Over the next three years the folks in that post production department taught me more than just software skills. They were friends and mentors and they put up with a lot from me. We worked on stop motion animation shows that aired on adult swim. I couldn't have asked for a better first "real" job and I'll always be thankful.From 2011 - 2021 I was in the YouTube world. First at Machinima, then with Rooster Teeth for seven years, three of which I was fortunate enough to manage a wonderful post production team. I learned a ton from stepping into a management role and look forward to continue learning.Currently, I work at IllFonic Publishing on the marketing team. It's been a privilege to help promote the work of so many skilled artists and various professionals that create the amazing worlds that are video games. And it's just as good to work with a great, close knit team of kind, dedicated people nested in a similar company culture.Video editing remains a skill that I enjoy and hope to further. I've edited hundreds of videos - mostly YouTube funnies, admittedly - of varying budgets, production quality and timelines. I'm proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro. Concerning motion graphics and compositing, I have a solid intermediate knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop and have used them often when putting together many projects.A bit more about me personally - Playing a fair amount of sports from a young age, being involved in the Boy Scouts and a vibrant youth group are experiences that shaped much of how I go about life. Working with and/or struggling with, others to accomplish a mutual goal can be very fulfilling. And if you fail, lose a game, etc, it's comforting to share the grief and disappointment with others who feel the same. Strong bonds are made in such ways. To the extent possible, this is how I like to operate at work and other aspects of life that apply.I believe God exists and that He cares; that He wants me to know Him and treat others well.
