I collaborate with the Sales Team to analyze the technical and commercial specifications of our customers and determine the G&W Electric Co. power distribution switchgear solutions that satisfy these specifications, such as:•Type of Switchgear- Overhead or Underground- Recloser or Load Break Switch- SF6 or Solid Dielectric- Pole Top, Padmount, Substation, or Vault Application•System Voltage•Current and/or Voltage Sensing Requirements-Internal or External Sensing Equipment-High Energy or Low Energy•Type of Control and Requirements-Current and/or Voltage Sensing Inputs-Communication Protocol -Interface with SwitchgearNext, I develop pricing and lead times based on the custom engineered solutions and present these to the customers in quote or bid form along with supporting technical data.As the orders come in from the Sales Team, I work with Customer Service, Order Management, and Engineering to ensure correct and timely delivery to the customer.

- Electrical Test LabI developed the AC4 (Overload) electrical testing program in Checon’s test lab. This testing program is used to evaluate the electrical performance of contacts under motor load conditions. Some of the testing evaluations include: • Effect of contact attachment quality on electrical performance • Effect of contact material on electrical performance • Effect of manufacturing process on electrical performanceWith the success of the AC4 testing program, I managed the expansion of the test lab to conduct AC3 (Endurance) electrical testing in parallel with the existing AC4 testing. The ability to conduct AC3 and AC4 testing is essential to fully understand contact performance under motor load conditions.- Process Development/ImprovementI was the lead Project Engineer on a department transfer package, from an outside company, that included over 150 parts. My responsibility was to obtain Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) on these parts by means of: • Furnace, torch, and induction brazing • Projection welding- SalesI provided technical support to the Checon sales team using analysis gained from the electrical test lab. Some of my duties as part of the sales team included: • Meeting with current customers to discuss ongoing and future projects • Meeting with potential customers to discuss new opportunities • Delivering presentations discussing electrical testing capabilities and results
