☛ Inaugural Chair of Division II: Resources, Technology, and Commerce (2011-2016) • Data Analytics: Developed faculty surveys and implemented innovative clustering technique that served to determine current six academic divisional groupings based upon survey data. • Mentoring: Established a college-wide mentoring team program that matches all new faculty with a mentor. • Search: Appointed chair of administrative and key faculty search committees, including chairing the search committee for the current Academic Vice President and Dean of the Faculty and for endowed chair positions in Business and in Sustainability. • Hiring: Hired 23 divisional faculty members and 2 divisional staff members over past three-and-a-half years. • Divisional Assessment: Led assessment of division via divisional self-study, including a survey of alumni and the establishment of six divisional learning communities.☛ Computer Science Program Director/Chair. Collaborative pedagogies engage students in disciplinary content while developing skill in working with others. Despite the solo hacker personas that are too-often portrayed in popular media, most computing professionals work closely with others. Process Oriented Guided Inquiry-Based Learning (POGIL) is a collaborative active-learning learning approach that is structured to develop mastery of disciplinary skills in parallel with the development of process skills such as communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. This project explores the impact of using the POGIL teaching strategy on student self-efficacy and learning durability in Ghana.
