I run, and lecture for, the Light Express laser Roadshow. The Light Express incorporates a professional laser light show and uses demonstrations which illustrate the wonderful laser technology behind the internet. The show involves 20 staff and postgraduate students from the University of Southampton and we've performed to approximately 60,000 people since the start of the Roadshow tour. Last year we gave shows at the London Science Museum to packed audiences and performed to 750 teachers for the European 'Science on Stage'​. I also run holography workshops for school children, students and the general public at the University, in science centres, museums and galleries. I've made holograms almost everywhere; in school cupboards, in a Children's Secure Unit in pubs and cafes and under the streets of Southampton in the Vaults with the mayor!I am the Outreach Officer for the South East Physics Network (SEPnet) at the University of Southampton. The network links University Physics Departments together across the South East region. I am also working with a team of 11 European Partners to tell Europe about the benefits of Photonics and how important it is to our daily lives in www.photonics4all.eu. Show less

I am a practicing artist working with holography and have exhibited my artwork world-wide; recent shows have included a group holography show at the Aveiro City Museum, Portugal and in the 'Magic of Light' exhibition in the Optics Museum of ITMO University, St. Petersburg and Moscow City Centre. I am currently working towards a PhD in Holography and Lenticular imaging at De Montfort University.

Teaching Laser Technology to High School students on the world's first 3 year Photonics Programme for 15-18 year-olds. The course was affiliated with Indian Hills Community College and provided students with course credit on the Associates Degree Course for Laser Technicians. The Career Centre course received national science accreditation.
