Process Engineer across a range of Machines producing for Ford/General Motors. This role included implementing different tooling to solve potential customer issues with cost and quality at the forefront of implemented solutions. Experienced gained with applying different types of tooling (drills, reamers, face mill cutters, bull noise cutters, three/two flute and helical design tooling) as well as a lot of experience with appropriate feeds/speeds of particular tooling applications with in-depth experience in the implementation of high pressure coolant.Experience in the following:Understanding machining programmes and the codes implemented- know how to read the programme and make modifications if needed.To utilise ‘Trace Analysis’ –Siemens – To monitor/detect worn or broken tooling while machining to eliminate potential scrap and to reduce cost by closely monitoring the tooling count of all tools – by real time measuring torque value of the actual tooling. Experience in managing various projects which included: Reduction in tooling costs and design & implementation of prototype tooling. Increasing machining output which included upgrading gearboxes/spindles to increase feeds/speeds.

Employed as a general mechanic on a part time basis due to my studies. Involves operating heavy plant machinery and repairing/ servicing all types of machinery, specialising in undercarriage rebuilds for excavators. Involves working as part of a small team to ensure various implements/machinery were ready for sales and hire. Work included measuring and fabricating made to suit plates and brackets for attachments such as rock hammers for excavators. I am proficient in MIG/TIG and ARC welding and I work on my own initiative. My problem solving skills/dealing with problems within the engineering sector has been enhanced directly due to experiences gained from this role.

• Experience in project management teams and planning for multi million pound projects (Translink’s/Irish Rails Enterprise project).• Experience in project appraisal and tendering processes.• Using design software (AutoCAD/Solid Works) to design one off- parts and machining these parts by using CNC machines.• Monitoring & managing rolling stock for train bogies and liaising with CAF (Monitoring Body) to assess various legal requirements.• Designing and fabricating an apparatus to measure brake disc wear on trains effectively & efficiently. • Modifying current systems (Water Level Indicators) on particular buses to make them more user friendly.• Three months experience on energy management and monitoring for all of Translink’s properties in Northern Ireland.• Stripping and rebuilding of a Volvo Six Cylinder engine and installing it back into a bus.
