- Leading a team of product designers responsible for the guest-facing design of Hyatt.com including the Loyalty program, booking platform, new property websites, and new brand websites. -Collaborating closely with leaders in product and engineering and business stakeholders to see products through initial discovery through implementation and post-release iteration.

- Lead the Product Design Practice during my transition to Hyatt, getting several designers that were on the team before I arrived up to speed on new collaborative design techniques necessary to work within the digital organization’s agile transformation. -Lead the team working on the design system for Hyatt. Role changed to also lead the design work for Hyatt.com when the pandemic hit our industry and the team was consolidated.

- Established product design practices in Agile XP labs across four locations in the USA, one in Northern Ireland, and one in India, by hiring, training, and managing staff and building relationships with local leadership and product team members.- Interviewed over 130 people and made over 30 hires over the course of two years. Had the privilege of starting over 20 design careers and building talented designers and design managers from scratch.- Developed a Product Design Bootcamp with Pivotal Labs to train the large influx of new designers on lean product mindset, collaborative design, and working as a designer within an Agile XP environment.- Collaborated with UX and technology leadership to establish how UX fit within product teams.- Remotely hired and managed the first Allstate product designer in India, whose project went on to win the Silver Award for Best Design – Enterprise and Startup at UX India 2018.

- Oversight of all Agile XP projects and project activities related to product design, including interaction design, research, visual design, and front-end development.- Establish and implement Lean UX methodologies in support of an enterprise-wide culture change towards agile methodologies and the Pivotal Labs working model and environment.- Develop the full stack of product designer skills in all product designers (UI design, visual design, research, and soft-skills)

-Lead UX role, providing oversight for 15+ simultaneous UI design, content, and research projects regarding the customer portal across several business areas.-Coaching of junior designers and researchers on their project work-Influenced business strategy for the customer portal based on research findings, analytics, and design concept work in support of consumer needs.-Helped establish the design architect role responsibilities/activities with other design architects, as it was a new role within the company.

- Successfully created statements of work that were approved by clients to get funding for the right user experience activities in support of users.- Planned, executed, and reported on several user research methodologies in support of highly complex, high profile projects - contextual inquiry, interviews, card sorting, usability testing, surveys, post-implementation evaluation, competitive analysis, heuristic evaluation, task analysis, and analysis of usage metrics.- Created quick lo-fidelity prototypes as well as complex HTML, CSS & JavaScript prototypes in support of user research.- Created wireframes, detailed UI design specs, UI flows, task analyses, affinity diagrams, sequence models, and prototypes for a diverse range of complex projects for customer-facing initiatives, agent systems, responsive mobile websites, mobile apps, and call center applications.- Started a front-end developer role at Allstate that has successfully reduced visual defects and improved system performance time for multiple systems. The role has since grown to multiple people after proving business value.- Created semantic, standards-compliant, production-ready HTML, CSS, and Javascript code on multiple projects.- Provided oversight for front-end resources developing production-ready front-end HTML, CSS and JavaScript code for responsive web projects.- Provided oversight for UX architects completing UI Design and Research activities on multiple projects.

- Served as team leader for usability testing engagements in collaboration with Fortune 500 clients.- Experienced in working with a wide variety of interfaces and products including mobile phones, medical devices, instruction manuals, in-car navigation devices, and e-commerce websites.- Created screeners that were used as company-wide best practice examples and successfully brought in representative users for usability tests according to client needs.- Designed usability testing protocols for quantitative, qualitative, comparative, and formative usability tests aligned with client objectives.- Produced and presented detailed usability test reports to high-profile clients that included priority levels of issues and the consequences of implementing or not implementing recommendations.- Created wireframes and low and high fidelity prototypes for web design projects.- Presented case studies at technical communication and human factors conferences.- Managed and trained new staff to take over IT and lab operations.
