OZ Racing is a Perth based horse syndication company. Principal Bruce Saxild enlisted me to select, inspect and assist in the syndication of racehorses to be placed with selected trainers on the Eastern Seaboard.These syndications were relatively low cost and aimed at people wanting an entree into the fun of horse racing without a huge outlay.Organisation.

I worked for this popular publication in the roles of advertising sales, staff writer and proof reader.

I relocated to England for two years to work as a pedigree research assistant, involving database maintenance and input.

I planned the matings for the 100 mares at Glen Oaks Stud, New Zealand as well as administrating the racing sector in Western Australia for the owner, L.R. Connell.

Initially employed in the role of Assistant Racing Manager, I was responsible for the upkeep of records of 500 broodmares, stallions and racehorses. My duties also included liaison with trainers, jockeys and stable staff.

Initially, I was employed as Secretary to the Racecourse Manager. After three years, I was successful in gaining the position of Promotions Officer. My tasks encompassed securing race sponsorship and the organisation of race day events. These included the Melbourne Cup Luncheon for 2,000 people, entertaining special guests, booking bands and other.

Initially employed as a rental officer, I was promoted to Branch Manager in 1979. I was the first female manager appointed in Australia. My duties included daily fleet movement reports, sales calls, client liaison and occasional car washing!
