I am a second-generation master baker and creator of all family recipes for Vicky Enterprises, an 18-store authentic Cuban bakery. As Managing Partner for the business, I oversee the implementation of design, policies and procedures, contracts, and agreements, to ensure successful business growth, product quality, and customer satisfaction. I also manage vendor relationships to improve supply chain reliability, speed, and profitability.I oversee new business development, which includes funding new locations and negotiating leases. I work closely with architects and contractors, manage construction, and order equipment and fixtures for the stores.I grew up in the bakery business, and it is in my blood. My parents started the company in 1972 when they immigrated from Cuba and purchased their first location, a cafeteria. They began making their homemade pastries by hand using original Cuban recipes, and fresh ingredients, and the business took off. We currently have 18 stores in South Florida and still make our pastries by hand the way my parents did. The concept has been so successful that we have opened up franchise opportunities.As the company's head baker, I have developed several new products, including the popular Vicky's Cuban Vegan Bread. I have also led kitchen initiatives to help the company scale, such as nationwide shipping of Vicky's famous frozen pastries and the opening of a USDA plant to ensure quality and productivity. I also get involved in business development opportunities and expanded Vicky Cafe's in Universities throughout South Florida.My expertise in commercial baking has been instrumental in fueling the growth of Vicky Enterprises by creating both additional revenue as well as cost streamlining opportunities. Having spent my career in the bakery business, I have become skilled in-store expansion operations, including location scouting and construction management.
