Directs a team of 15 engineers and inspectors that provides construction engineering services for the CDOT and for the work associated with 100 miles of annual resurfacing of streets and alleys within the City of Chicago. He leads inspection services, layouts, and QC program for the construction of more than 1,500 ADA ramps per year. Mr. Florez coordinates between the CDOT’s concrete and asphalt in-house crews and the Utility adjustment contractors to ensure timely completion of more than $55 million concrete and resurfacing projects. He often liaises between the CDOT’s representatives and Aldermanic Ward offices, business owner, and constituents to communicate and set expectations. As the Project Manager, he also leads the coordination between the In-House Construction work and other entities within the City of Chicago and private utility companies.
