It was my 3rd hotel opening and my 3rd position as Night Auditor but my first boutique hotel, where I've encountered the new SAP hotel management system that at first I struggle to learn but was in truth a life experience. Once again the job requirements were pretty much the same as the last ones but since we had a very young team without any previous experience in hospitality made every shift a desert crossing. Hope that in this short experience I have passed along some of my experience to them and wish them all good luck !!! Again my duties were the closing of the day, auditing accounts, issuing invoices & sending to the TO, preparing and checking reservations for the following days, check-outs and early check-ins, creation of listings by departments, etc, etc

I´ve learned to cope with a wide range of skills and competences and got stronger at multitasking, learned and perfected languages and learnt some more. I have the opportunity to learn about yield and revenue in a operational level and mastered some channel manager´s.

I´ve acquired a set of skill set that is particularly applied on the night shift such as accounting audit, invoice listing and mailing, taxes and commission control, closure of the day, liaison with all departments.

Small 3 * Hotel situated right in the center of town, which worked with a custom hotel management system similar to the interface some restaurant POS have, keys still had a big metal logo to make guests to leave keys in the front office and there worked with a funny schedule that was 14 nights straight and got 6 to 7 days off ... but still a worthy life and professional experience and everybody treated me nicely from day one.

My first job in hospitality where I've started to grow the "bug" and loving the hospitality business which in short is all about expectations and quality service we can provide to all our guests. In this superb hotel I worked as a night porter, greeting incoming & outgoing guests alike, aiding with the luggage, aiding front desk with all necessary jobs, providing fulfillment for special needs in group arrivals, parking cars in the garage, etc, etc
