Pedro Medrano is an independent researcher with a background in architecture who began his professional journey interviewing community members of Chicago’s West Humboldt Park neighborhood, asking residents about their built environment, their rituals of daily life, and their visions for the future of their community. Pedro attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where he received a B.S in Architecture and continued his studies at the University of Pennsylvania. He has worked with the Chicago architecture firm Landon, Bone, Baker Architects where he learned the value of community oriented design, that housing is healthcare, and the urgent need for affordable housing in America.
