I have a Bachelor degree in Behavioral Science and 25 years of experience in monitoring programs and individuals to remain compliant with city and state laws along with policies and procedures according to the mission of the agency. I have experience in intervention/prevention programs in family and children services with 17 years in a school setting related to mentoring, counseling and behavior management. My ability to understand cultural diversity, equitable education and my interpersonal skills has served as strength in every position I have secured within my professional career. I have provided academic and behavior management services in the Humboldt Park, Logan Square, Albany Park, Rogers Park, Auburn Gresham and live in the Garfield Park community. I have been trained in Responsive Classroom and Social Emotional Learning and served as an SEL Instructor to assist teachers to incorporate SEL lessons within their school subject along with coordinating weekly 45 min SEL classes for teachers to teach. I also have 10 years of experience in program development where I have assisted schools and organizations throughout Illinois to develop, implement and sustain effective prevention and intervention programs. Along with my social service background, I have 15 years of experience in organizing and mobilizing communities where I have addressed issues related to education, community development and social change.
