I am a tax lawyer with +20 years of experience in advising and consulting in the financial services industry. I believe that we are living fascinating times. Following the epicenter of the crisis, we are experiencing an acceleration of change in our world.Most of my career has been focused on transactional tax planning, M&A and tax structuring, international and corporate tax advisory, tax reporting and compliance for large multi-national clients (mainly banks, insurance companies, asset managers, private equity managers, investment funds and private wealth managers). In-depth focus on structured products design and taxation. I am also a subject matter expert in cross border withholding tax.During the past few years, I have also specialized in U.S. withholding taxes & reporting (QI/FATCA/871(m)) and other operational taxes, as well as tax transparency regimes (CRS/AeOI, OECD TRACE, income tax reporting, etc.). I am the leading regulatory practitioner in the area at Deloitte Legal in Spain.I have worked in designing tax governance and risk management control framework models from a regulatory, operational and strategic perspective.This journey has taken me to a place where regulation and business meet process and technology. My international experience has helped me understand the importance of being open to different perspectives and business cultures. I am interested in the opportunities that innovation brings for both the financial services industry and the professional services business. I am especially excited by the possibilities that digital transformation creates for RegTech and FinTech solutions. The marriage of technology and regulation will be key to address the future tax and regulatory challenges. Cycling and supporting our local kids football club are also my passions.
